They join our great team of local coaches, all of whom have been trained at the Liverpool FC Academy in England to coach "the Liverpool way".
The coaching programmes teach not just ball skills, but all the fundamental techniques, including the technical, tactical, physical, mental and social elements of the game. Whilst developing players as individuals, the coaching also encourages players to work as a team, both in defensive and attacking situations, including positional sense, communication, handling, footwork, distribution, crosses, organisational skills, kicking, agility and flexibility.
As part of its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, Harlequin Sports Academy also allows children from local schools and football associations to use the Soccer School. In addition to building upon Harlequin's already strong relationship with the country and its people, the aim is to help improve the standard of football and give opportunities to talented youngsters with Liverpool Football Club. Who knows, maybe the next Steven Gerrard will be discovered in St Vincent!
The state-of-the-art FieldTurf artificial pitch is also available for fun-filled friendly games for both adults and children, all supervised by the Liverpool FC International Football Academy Soccer Schools coaches at scheduled times each day when not being used for coaching.
For those of you who prefer the natural look, Buccament Bay will soon have its own full-size, real grass football pitch, which is scheduled for completion in spring 2012. More details will be provided soon.
